Growing Focus on Smart Fuel Additives for a Cleaner Environment

Auto exhausts have become a menace of our environs especially the urban metros which are really bearing the brunt through general and specific impacts. While reducing the number of automobiles is proving to be an ambiguous and untraceable solution, there has been an enhanced thrust on petrol anddiesel fuel additives. We come across the term - ‘smart fuels’, signifying the emergence on the fuel scene, a new line of efficient fuels. Such smart fuels are a leap beyond the refinement profile that was earlier a thrust area for fuel research. Many nations have enforced compliance standards for the adoption of petrol and diesel additives. ‘Euro IV’ and ‘BS4’ are renowned European and Indian fuel standards respectively.

Diesel fuel additives have been encouraged largely by the global community on account of extensive use of diesel vehicles for bulk commodity movement in most of the nations. The idea is to run engines on cleaner fuels which produce lesser of GHG’s and thus reducing global carbon footprint!
